Tolkien, artist

First seen on Pink Siamese. but then on many others.  I'm not really expecting responses, I haven't been writing all that long, not even six months yet.  But, what the heck...nothing ventured, nothing gained.

If I made Cinderella, the audience would immediately be looking for a body in the coach.
— Alfred Hitchcock

When I write a story, what do readers immediately look for?
I can't say I look for a specific character yet, as it seems you are experimenting with different ones with every piece I read, short of long.

I read again a few stories right now, and what I would look for is that, your fresh perspective on the characters you write. :)
You are very kind. After having lived with all of these characters for almost fifty years, I think they have imprinted their personalities on me - LOL.

I don't know about what I would look for, even though I have read one of your fics. I feel incredibly rude now because I cannot place which one it was or the plot.

On the other hand, I like reading about your every day life. I actually looked up Perkins and went to breakfast heaven :D It inspired me to make something myself - so I put ready prepared garlic bread in the oven, after topping it with chopped tomato, onion and mozzarella :D

Oh hun, that's not rude, that's honest and I will never knock someone down for being honest. I'm very flattered that you like my daily posts, I live a rather boring and mundane life except when I have a chance to play with my art, but I try to make the most of it.

Perkins - breakfast heaven indeed. I love going there and it's very convenient for me - right on the way to work.

Ok, I don't know you for a very long time, but I think there's a big chance to find Helyanwe in your stories! :) Btw, she is really lovely, good OC.
Thanks for your kind words about my little glassworker. I love Helyanwe, and she has taken over my life for however long it will take to tell her story. I'm always afraid of boring people to death with my OC, but then I try and remind myself that I really write for my own satisfaction and the fact that others seem to also enjoy her is just icing on my cake :-)

Your writing is Silm-based, and generally revolves around your delightful glass-blower OFC. Which is fine, because she has quite the story to tell.
Guilty as charged. I love the Silm. It is the best book of Tolkien's in my opinion, the characters are just so rich and just asking to be played with :-) I'm also so pleased that Helyanwe appeals to you.

A fresh perspective on the ordinary and a lovely sense of character. I remember reading a couple of shorts you had posted to oeam and being charmed by the unique viewpoint presented.

Thanks, Minial, that's really sweet of you.

Glass blowing... or at least the glass blower. And suddenly my brain's gone all sideways considering how skilled she must be with her lips and her breath control...!
LOL. I think Helyanwe just blushed up to the tips of her ears. She is flattered though, even as she's trying to fold up into a very small space and hide :-)
