Wonderful Sunday Until the Steam Bath

The Egyptian exhibit at the Science Museum that DH and I went to yesterday was wonderful.

We spent almost 2-1/2 hours looking carefully at the items. I purchased the expanded catalog book because of one item that I dearly want to try and make for myself that was only pictured in that. We looked at other books, etc., in the exhibit bookstore as well as the general museum store, but the book was the only thing we bought. Then we spent another two hours exploring the museum, playing with the various exhibits, pushing buttons and testing our child-like understanding. I was very pleased that we had the appointment we did. The exhibit wasn't crowded and it was easy to get up close to each item. By the time we left, the line to get in was huge and I am sure that our emply views would not have existed for those people.

Afterwards we went to dinner at Outback Steak House - ummmm...prime rib and two margaritas each. Simply lovely. I brought half of mine meat back home for dinner tonight. But our heat is unabated and it was hot and sticky at home. I tossed and turned all night and managed to get about four hours of sleep, but I think I'll grab a quick 45 minutes nap before heading out to work today. I'm just too tired to drive just now.

The museum sounds great fun. I have to say that I don't envy you the heatwave - our nice 18-20C will do nicely.
The museum was wonderful. After the exhibit we went through each floor. It is designed to help children and adults understand more about science so we studied light, sound, the human body, perception and proportion, rivers and waterways, dinosaurs, and many other things. Great fun pushing lots of buttons :-)

always fun to act like a kid legitimately
I'm so glad you had a good time -- the exhibit and everything sounds wonderful. You were very lucky indeed. :)

I totally sympathize with you about the heat wave though! Today is supposed to be *wicked*! ::hands you very cold drink::
I'll take that cold drink gladly. This heat wave really sucks, and it doesn't look as though it will be ending any time soon. We had the fifth hottest July on record and August isn't cooling off either.

We are having a miserable weather wave lol

I would love to see the Egyptian exhibitions - I love science museums too :D

The exhibit was quite marvelous. Our heat wave got crashed in a nice, violent form this morning. I'll be telling about that in my morning's blog.

I would so love to see that museum exhibit!

It's going to be 110 tomorrow, 109 Wednesday, 108 Thursday and 107 Friday. I would be happy it's cooling down at least but with temps over 100, I just want to move into my freezer and hibernate there until October! *sending sympathy popsicles*
I will happily take your popsicles and raise you a Drumstick. It's hot. It's miserable.
