In your own space, create your own challenge. What’s something you want to see more people doing in fandom? Is there something fun you’ve tried that you think other people would enjoy if they gave it a go? Dare your friends to try it out, and have fun with it. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I'm actually pretty happy with the fandom as it currently is. I wish there were a few more monthly challenges similar to LOTR Community Challenge or Teitho, but realistically, I probably wouldn't have the time to take on a lot more and still keep working on my novel. So, I'm content. However, if you've got good friends in fandom and they are not friends with me, I'd love to add them.
I promised a day or so ago that I would get braver. I've been posting most of my work on the individual challenge boards and my own name, but kept them friend-locked on my personal boards. I'm going to loosen that up a bit and unlock my friend-lock for my fiction. I will keep things locked for my daily blog. It's easy enough for people to find and read my blog if they really want to, but it's the principle of the thing.
I also want to continue working toward getting caught up on posting my stories to Fairie, AO3, and MPPT/SWG depending on the time frame of the tale. I prefer Fairie and AO3 because they accept all ratings and I do have pieces that are PG13 or higher. That way I don't have to worry about stepping on anyone's toes. I'll continue to try and get caught up, even though I'm not the best at it.
And I'll continue to comment on fics I have time to read and posts that interest me or that I feel should have a comment. I like the interactive part of LJ/DW and I want to keep that aspect of fandom in my corner for as long as possible.
So there we go - Fifteen Days of this and I'm fairly amazed that I managed to do it.
