What To Do...What To Do...???

Today is my studio day and I have my usual long list of things that I want to try and get done. I need to do the budget that I mentioned yesterday - no way around it this time, it has to get done. I will talk with my friend in California late this afternoon, something that I look forward to every week. I would like to phone my friend's widow and find out how she's doing, it's been about two weeks since I last spoke with her, but I can't spare the time for lunch with her today. Maybe I can schedule something for next week. I'm almost finished with a complete "throw everything out except the premise" rewrite of one of my B2ME stories. When I finish this I can add it to my queue for that particular story-line which will leave me with a single story to review before beginning to post this group.

Reviewing and rewriting takes up a good deal of my time since I self-beta. I also beta for an author who lives in Germany. We've been working together for more than two years now and have a very comfortable relationship. I want to get her next chapter beta'ed and sent to her. I want to read...I've been reading through the Nightrunner series and I'm totally in love with her characters. And I want to draw. And I want to work with some glass. And I want to work with a torch and some enamel. And...and...and...well, you get the idea. Can I have TWO days off? No? Darn it all - LOL

I also need to dive back into the research for my original fiction that I want to start writing in November. I really need to make a more detailed outline to make sure that my idea will actually work in a novel length. I am notorious for being a person who writes in shorter lengths and for me to be able to pull out something of 50,000 words will be difficult unless I have a very clear road map of where I begin, where I want to go, and how I want to end. I have a basic outline but I need to do much better than that or this won't happen. Now to get my act together, the trash and recycling gathered, the laundry started, get the idea. I just have to remember to do the budget - the single most important item on my list for today.
I sleep between 5 and 5-1/2 hours a night, so not a lot. I figure I'll have ample time to sleep when I'm less physically able and when I'm dead. Right now, I want to live as much life as I can.

Oh, you'll make it, I'm sure. The outline for the plot, I mean. I say it for two reasons. First, remember how you called yourself a drabble-queen, and you weren't... ok, perhaps I shouldn't say you weren't fond of longer stories, perhaps it's too much to put it that way, but you definitely prefered writing drabbles. And today? You wrote/write many longer stories, several thousand words long. ;) And those are good stories. So I'm sure you'll do just fine with even longer one.
Second, the plot usually develop while you write (it's aliveeeeeeeeee!!!), so your story will grow in the way you don't even know yet! :)
Yes, stories grow like mold in a warm place - LOL. I think it will work, but I have to make sure that my story premise will actually hold up in a work of that length, not just be more applicable to a short story or a small novella. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me to dive into something with a word goal and fall short because the subject can't support the in-depth examination. I must admit, I am becoming more accustomed to longer works - :-)
