Trust and Thanks

So I now begin my journey towards my 59th birthday. Eeek! It is such a large number. I grew up as a child of the 1960's and don't think I've ever truly left my hippie days behind. One of the sentiments that we said so blithely in those days was to never trust anyone over the age of 30. Well, I've left that age far behind me. I guess I can't trust myself any more. Hmmm....

I got home from work to find a single red rose, a lovely card, and DH cooking a dinner of wild-rice stuffed chicken breasts, flavored rice, and green beans almondine. With fancy cupcakes for a birthday dessert, it was a perfect end to a very nice day. I have to send thanks out to so many of my f-list and other friends. If I miss your name, it's not because I didn't appreciate your good wishes, it's because I messed up and your name should be here!

lindahoyland and kymahalei sent me beautiful e-cards. Thanks to both of you so very much, they were simply wonderful. I received fantastic good wishes, pictures, e-bouquets, etc. from minuial_nuwing, ellynn_ithilwen, binkaslibrary, just_ann_now,, shirebound, silver_trails chaotic_binky, elfscribe5, keiliss, hhimring, drummerwench samtyr and olorime001. Email messages and Facebook thanks to Poo, Seth, Rosemary, Raven, Missy, aearwen and NiRi. Thanks to each and every one of you for sharing my birthday and celebrating along with me.

Work was hectic, but except for that, the day was really marvelous. You were a part of what made it special, so thank you, my friend.

What a nice birthday!

I'm on my journey towards my 56th birthday, so I remember the 1960's quite well! :)
Yes, there are a lot of us around the same basic age in the Tolkien fanfic area.

On the way to 59 eh? haha
I kinda thought you had a hippie soul just from your art which is quite beautiful btw. I too was just last weekend laughing with another friend of my age about the "don't trust anyone over 30" and how screwed we are for having passed 30 "ages ago". LOL
Glad you had a great time, a fabulous dinner and can look forward to an incredible 59! I'll let you know how it feels in (checks calendar) 3 weeks. LOL
Yuppers, that long and rocky road. But what a good time we had wandering through the 60's and 70's. I look forward to hearing what it looks like from the other side - LOL.

I'm not sure why I did a full underline, but I'm off to edit it right now :-)

He has his times, but he also has plenty of times when I would gladly push him out of a high window. Yesterday was one of the better days. :-)

It is odd, isn't it? When our parents were in their late fifties we thought they were quite old - but we are sure that we aren't, now that we've got there...
Sounds like you had a great birthday, and Belated Greetings to you! I am so glad to have such a creative LJ friend who also lives in my hometown!
