Beta!

I've got a question for all of my F-list friends.  I have no idea how to find a beta.

Normally I put things up on LC because the eyes there are magnificent in catching my errors and duplicates.  But  on rare occasions I write for something that can't be seen (I'm even doing changes in characters to subdue identification, although anyone who knows my writing would be able to tell so easily).

Anyway, to get back to the point.  Is there a place or a group that you could recommend where I could find someone who might be willing to beta occasionally?  I don't write long stories, and I suspect that most of my beta work will still be done with LC because ... well ... I love my fellow lizards.

Usually I ask around here or at one of the writing groups. Just put out a FYI at LC and I'm sure you'll have lots of offers for private betaing. :)
For the occasional quick beta job, I'll do it. Just drop me an email to make certain I'm aware of the time constraints, if any, and to let me know you need help.
I would love to take you up on it, but really can't since most of these will probably be for ALEC contests. It's hard enough to bury character names... I'm really wondering why I'm doing this, except that the story came to me and I had to write it.

Thanks, Ms O. I just might send you this latest one - it's not very long - and you can read it for content and let me know if it makes sense. I'll try and nab someone else for grammatical and spelling issues :-)
