100 Things - 100 People

g

{Take the 100 Things challenge!}

I had hesitations about joining into the 100 Things Blog, but after reading numerous entries and thinking about it for several days, I have decided to join.

I am one of those people who would be delighted to meet people in cyberspace without ever having to meet them in real life. I am a happy hermit. I don't interact with people well, for some reason my open arms are perceived with the hesitation that one would give to an octopus waving its arms in front of one. Where I offer flowers, I am often perceived as offering poison ivy. Enough slaps on the face have taught me to be cautious, but I still tend to run ahead into social situations rather like a Great Dane puppy wagging his tail and falling over his own huge paws.

Therefore, I have decided that I will post about people. This could include customers who have walked into my shop and amazed me, those who have come in and angered me, those I've met on-line who have embraced me, those who have pushed me away. People, in all their glory and warts. By examining 100 people in more depth, I hope to be able to appreciate them more and interject aspects of them into characters in the future. Anyone is fair game in this, so beware and be warned.

I do hope I will meet you some day. When I travel to an area where I know I have an e-friend, I always try to set up a meet for dinner or a drink because I love meeting people face to face, but I am actually rather shy (I can hear my friends and customers laughing at that statement, but I actually am) and work very hard to be more "in front" because of that.

Be assured that if I ever travel to Peru, or if you are ever closer to me than Tennessee, I'll be trying to meet you :-)

I hope so too. I've enjoyed getting to know you a bit better over the past year or two.
